No information on female child Matilda other then what is shown.
John was sent on a special mission by King Richard II to Calais.  He also went to Kent and while there; his Aunt died
and he inherited  all her lands.  In addition to Hapton; he now owned all of Towneley.  He sealed the settlement of
his estates with "three mullets and a fesse"; the seal used formally by the de la Leighs. 
In 1397 he became one of the Coroners for the County of Lancaster
