NOTES     
Robert was born in Virginia, but moved back to England with his family around 1720.  He was admitted to Peterhouse, Cambridge, aged 20 in 1725, graduated with a BA and an MA and became a clergyman.  Ordained a deacon (1729) and a priest (1731), he was Rector of Hatley in Bedfordshire (1735-54) and Eyeworth (1742).
